OUR MISSION
Our mission objective is simple. As our Pre-Amble states
"With reverence for God and Country and being ever mindful of the glorious traditions of the United States Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard,
Our DUTY to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America,
Our RESPONSIBILITY to aid in the maintaining adequate defense for our beloved country,
Our DESIRE to assist in obtaining the best type of personnel for our Sea Services;
Our INTEREST in the welfare of those who served and are now serving;
Our DEVOTION to our shipmates, in good fortune or distress;
Our REVERENCE for the memory of our departed Shipmates;
WE associate ourselves together......."
Branch 244 is active in the local community participating in all Veteran's type ceremonies such as Memorial Day, 4th of July, Armed Forces Day. The Branch also sponsors a student grade level 7 - 12 Americanism Essay Contest in most schools in the Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisade, Delta, Montrose areas. We have had several student entries submitted for Regional and National judging.
